Volunteers are an important part of the students’ success at Maximo Elementary. School volunteers are people just like you — community members, parents, grandparents, students, business people and seniors — who have discovered that spending time and sharing talents with students is an energizing and worthwhile experience.
Being a school volunteer doesn’t require any special skills — you simply need to be yourself. As you share your time and skills, students’ lives can change. Seeing students reach their potential in the classroom and grow as individuals is a wonderful benefit of being a school volunteer. Knowing that you play a role in helping students achieve success is the satisfying part.
Volunteers make it possible for the school to be able to support all of our students as they strive to reach their highest learning potential. We at Maximo Elementary count on our volunteers, so please consider spending some time in our building, helping our faculty, staff, and students.
Pinellas County Schools does background checks on all new volunteers. This process takes 2–3 weeks to complete. It is very important that all school volunteers and field trip drivers are registered well in advance of their service. We are also required to see a picture ID at the time of registration.
Additional volunteer information: Volunteers are required to log in at the volunteer computer in the main office as you enter and leave the building. For more information on volunteer opportunities and district-wide workshops, please call our Family & Community Involvement Liaison at 727-893-2191 or complete the registration below and return to it to Maximo Elementary.
